BIO

stefanie-boone-cedrd-ms-rdStefanie Boone, MS, RD, CEDRD is a nutrition therapist for people of all genders with eating and exercise disorders. She helps clients heal their relationship with food using a balance between self-acceptance work and change work. She works with clients to help stabilize eating and metabolism, achieve and maintain a biologically appropriate (“natural”) weight, reconnect with hunger and fullness signals when possible, dispel nutrition myths and misinformation, and identify situations and feelings that trigger unwanted eating and exercise behaviors. Stefanie provides weight inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming, and gender affirming care to all of her clients .

Individuals with the Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian certification (CEDRD) are health care professionals who have met rigorous educational and skill requirements, have accumulated a minimum number of hours of qualifying work experience, have made a commitment to stay abreast of current developments in the field through continuing education, and have agreed to comply with the Association’s ethical principles.

The CEDRD certification is accredited by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), which works to promote standards of excellence within the field of eating disorders.

Stefanie has an added specialization in treating eating disorders in those with co-occurring mood disorders and addictions. For people in recovery from addictions, she often helps with nutrition education, meal planning, and grocery shopping. She’s worked in her private practice on the Westside for the past 15 years, and held positions as Lead Dietitian at several treatment centers for Eating Disorders, Dual Diagnosis and Addictions, including: Eating Disorder Center of California, Visions Adolescent Treatment Centers, Clearview Treatment Centers, Resolutions Therapeutic Services, and Kaiser Permanente Eating Disorders Program in Hollywood.

She is also trained to teach DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills, and integrates these very effective skills to help clients unlock barriers to healing relationship with food, exercise, and body image. These skills enhance the effectiveness of her work with clients that have food issues co-existing with complex mental health issues. These concepts include mindfulness, taking a non-judgmental stance (and helping clients do the same), and finding the balance between acceptance and change.

Stefanie received her undergraduate education in dietetics and Masters of Science Degree in Nutrition from California State University, Northridge. Stefanie is a member of the American Dietetic Association, California Dietetic Association, IADEP, and the National Eating Disorders Association, WAAT, and IFEDD. She is a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) accredited by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).

She has spoken at numerous professional seminars on Nutrition Therapy for Eating Disorders, including conferences offered by Del Amo Hospital, and often speaks to adolescents at local schools on Eating Disorder Prevention. She has also guest lectured on the topic of EDs at Santa Monica College and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for Psych interns.

Stefanie is one of the contributing authors of Real World Recovery: Intuitive Food Program Curriculum for the Treatment of Eating Disorders.

She is an approved IAEDP Supervisor for RDs who are pursuing their CEDRD credential. Individual and group supervision available – please call to inquire.
